Bro. Rick was called as pastor of DBC in July 1999 after 5 years of full-time evangelism with his family. He is a graduate of Troy State University and attended Beeson Divinity School. He is a native of Tifton, Georgia and has served numerous churches in Alabama in various ministerial roles. He is married to Melanie and they have three children; Amy Scott, Heather Spence, and Michael.
James answered the call to serve at DBC in September 2007. He is joined with his wife Hilda and their daughter, Anna Katherine. James enjoys Southern Gospel. His talents and gifts are displayed through his tenor voice as well as playing trumpet, acoustic guitar and piano. Has a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master’s Degree in Church Music from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
Rachel Gordon
Minister to Children
Rachel was called as the Minister of Children in July 2009. She a native of Montgomery and earned a Public Relations Degree from Auburn University in 2008. She is currently working on her Masters in Christian Education at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. She loves children and enjoys movies and playing outside.
Bro. Doyle was called as part-time Minister to Senior Adults at DBC in January 1996. Doyle is married to Olivi and they have two children and two grandchildren. Bro. Doyle retired after 36 years with the Air Force and Civil Service. He is a native of Jasper, Florida and has served another church in Georgia as Minister of Education.

Marlene is a native of Opelousas, Louisiana. She is married to Jeff Hooks and they have two sons, Dustin & Aaron. The Hooks' family moved to Montgomery in 1991 with the Air Force. She was
a Kindergarten teacher for fifteen years prior to coming to DBC in August 2008.
